So this is my first OOTD post with my new camera! What do you think of the photos? Overall, I think they are better than my old pictures. The lighting is a little off in my full outfit shots (my face is a bit too shadowed for my liking, it makes me look like I’m grumpy or frowning), but I definitely prefer how it captures details.

Hmmm. Another post that I half drafted and then forgot about… what to say, what to say? How about one of those tag thingys that do the blog rounds every now and then? I received the Sunshine Award from Sahra at Beyond The Base Coat a little while ago, and I’ve been such a bad friend and fellow blogger and haven’t answered her questions yet!
1. What was your favourite childhood TV program or movie? Rainbow Brite and The Star Stealer! I had it on VHS and watched it whenever I could. I also loved The Wombles, The Simpsons, and Fraggle Rock.
2. What is your current guilty pleasure besides polish/nail art/beauty related products? Hmm. That’s a hard one. Maybe eBay. Does eBay count? I love buying cheap accessories and clothing from there.
3. Are you a summer or winter person? Summer. I feel the cold far to easily to enjoy winter.
4. If you had $500 to spend on anything you wanted what would it be? This is a hard one. I always have something I want to buy. I think I would grab something from Black Milk - perhaps these galaxy leggings or these hex colour leggings. Or both. And more.
5. What has been your most frustrating blogging moment? I don’t think I’ve ever had a frustrating blogging moment per se, but I do get a bit annoyed when there’s a user interface change on tumblr or one of the other platforms I use for my blog stuff. It’s so inconvenient to have to learn how to do everything again!
6. Who is your most hated villain character of all time? Oh, gosh, this one is tough. I’m not a huge consumer of films and TV shows, and I can’t really say I’ve ever ‘hated’ a character in a book. Um. The Governor from The Walking Dead? He’s pretty annoying. He’s too predictable, and he totally wears an Oreo as an eyepatch.
7. What is your go to comfort food? Chocolate mug cake. You’re welcome.
8. What hopes and dreams do you have for your blog? I hope to finally get to 100 followers - I’m currently at 94 so all going well it shouldn’t be too far away. Apart from that, I’m not sure!
9. Kitties or puppies? Kitties!
10. If your life was a movie what genre would it be and who would play you? Haha - my life is not interesting enough to be made into a film!
I’m not going to tag any other bloggers to pass this award on to (boo!) but if you’re interested in answering the same questions I did, feel free to do so in the comments! I’m not tagging as I’d like to know what you think of tags and awards like this one. Are they fun, or not something you want to see from time to time on LCC? If you’re a blogger, how do you feel about being tagged in these things?

This outfit was so much fun to wear! I haven’t worn heels in a while so it was strange to be tottering around in them again but they made me feel very fancy schmancy on a day where I didn’t have much planned. Short skirts and heels certainly aren’t an outfit choice I go for often, but sometimes they can both be incorporated into a look tastefully. I think the loose fit of the orange singlet balances everything out. What do you think - are short hemlines and high heels mutually exclusive?

Gosh, this post is going up so, so, so late! I have a whole stack of posts drafted and I intended to post some of them while I was working recently, but the extra hours really kicked my butt and I had no energy to write anything to go along with the photos. I’m still not even sure what to say now, as it’s been so long since I wore this outfit I can’t remember what comments I wanted to make! I think I’ll just leave you guys to enjoy the post without any further waffling from me.

I’m not sure if the photos really show it or not - although you should have worked it out from the post title - these shorts are high waisted! I have long wanted a pair of denim high waisted shorts and I was so happy to find two pairs earlier in the season (the second pair is apricot/peach coloured - bonus!). The only downside is that they are so, so close to being booty shorts. I wore them down to the shops and felt a bit uncomfortable with the length, so I think they might be better as around-the-house shorts, at least for now. Once the weather gets colder I can pair them with tights and all will be well!
27 January: White Hot

It’s been ridiculously hot here lately. I mean, I know it’s summer, but the weather has gone from being humid and cloudy with a bit of a breeze to hot and sunny with no wind whatsoever. It’s a different sort of heat, especially when you’re used to something else. I blame the weather for making me feel lazy and tired this week!
25 January: Yellow Pop

Make up: Eyes - Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper, Sugarpill Chromalust loose eyeshadow in Darling, Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadow in Island Chic, and Cover Girl LashExact mascara in Very Black; Lips - Lime Crime lipstick in Airborne Unicorn; Face - Nivea Visage Young tinted moisturiser, and Australis concealer; Nails - Lime Crime Lavendairy and I Love Nail Polish Fully Turqued (check out more photos here!)
Another hot and humid summer’s day, another bright and colourful outfit! The lighting was a bit off when I took these photos, so you’ll need to imagine my eyeshadow being more vibrant than it looks. I regret the lipstick - I should have gone with pink. I was trying too hard to be matchy-matchy with the nails…
24 January: Chartreuse and Dots

Dress: Supre
Cardy: Spiral
Shoes: Garage @ The Warehouse

Recently my friend Lani was checking out my blog and she came across this (super old and terribly photographed) post. She mentioned that she used to have the same dress but with red, yellow, and navy polka dots. Our conversation reminded me that I owned this dress (I know…) and I made a mental note to try and wear it as soon as possible. That day was today! I love the style of it and the brightly coloured polka dots.
20 January: Pastel Mix

Pastels! Summer! Awesome! Recently I bought a whole stack of coloured skinny jeans, including a few in pastel shades (the rest were neon!). While I love them, they aren’t the best quality. The pockets annoy me - they are made with white material, so they really show through. I wish they’d made them in a similar shade to the jeans. But, they are comfortable, and lightweight enough for summer, plus they cost me under $20 a pair. Can’t complain too much!
17 January: Grey Skies

These jeans were my first coloured denim purchase (I think!). I got them in March or April last year, and although this is the first time I’ve shown them on the blog, I have worn them loads and loads! They fit so well and they are very comfortable. Considering I bought them from the Supre website and couldn’t try them on beforehand, I think that’s great! How do you feel about buying clothes online?
